Rockland Voice Endorses Reform Candidate Charles Falciglia For County Legislator

Rockland Voice strongly endorses Charles Falciglia for Rockland County Legislator for District 12. District 12 represents 9 of the 11 voting districts of the Village of Suffern, the Villages of Airmont and Hillburn, and a small portion of unincorporated Ramapo.  Here is an interview with Falciglia that we published earlier.

Charles is the author of numerous articles for Rockland Voice among which is Four Thousand Shades of Political Gray, an eye-opening exposé which raises the question of possible widespread conduit contributions (donations through straw-donors to circumvent campaign finance restrictions) from developers and Rockland’s religious communities – a practice that is illegal. The article highlights a variety of questionable activity involving approximately one-hundred individuals and LLC’s; most notably through the campaign finance accounts of Legislator Ilan Schoenberger, Rockland Family Court Judge, Sherri Eisenpress, and Monroe Town Supervisor, Harley Doles. Other articles by Mr. Falciglia in Rockland Voice additionally brought to light the appearance, disappearance and alteration of campaign donations and expenses from one reporting cycle to another and from one year to another.

The amount of personal time Charles has invested speaks volumes of his work ethic and commitment to changing the corrupt culture of Lower Hudson Valley government. Many of his findings have been shared with law enforcement in Rockland. Interestingly, these types of contributions have seemingly dried up since the spotlight has been shone on them.

His article on Sewer District One and their failed prosecution of an Eminent Domain Case in Hillburn also raised far reaching questions about the lack of oversight and business acumen exhibited by Sewer District Commissioner’s Alex Gromack and Chris St. Lawrence and Legislator Aney Paul, leading to the potential bungling of millions of dollars. The Legislature, as usual, has stuck their head in the sand refusing to ask the same tough questions. Debating the safety of sparklers and bus washings seems more to their liking.

Charles is very independent and non-partisan, willing to take on his own party as evidenced by his open rebellion against the disgraced former Rockland County Republican Chairman, Vinnie Reda, and chief operative, former Ramapo GOP Chairman, Mike Dolan. Both charged him with disloyalty prior to the 2013 Suffern Mayoral race in a blatant attempt to reign him in, both ultimately ending up with egg on their faces based on the results of the election.

Mr. Falciglia has 35 years of banking experience and holds the extremely serious position of monitoring International Intermediary Funds Transfers for Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing for an International Bank. He is arguably the most qualified candidate regarding financial matters running, something sorely lacking with most of our current Legislators. Charles will be on the Republican line and the Reform Party Line – the latter perfectly suited for him.

One has to believe that Supervisor St. Lawrence along with Legislators Ilan Schoenberger and Aron Wieder are praying for his defeat.
