On Tuesday, September 09, 2014 a primary election within the Republican Party will take place to decide on its leadership for the next two years.
Watch this short video – “It Is From Your Ranks That I Come”
Two slates of candidates will be placed before registered Republicans; one supports a man of honor County Executive, Ed Day, as leader of the Party and the other supports the disgraced former Republican Committeeman and now ‘Confidential Secretary’ to Wayne Ballard, County Legislator Frank Sparaco and his mentor, Vinnie Reda.
Voters will have to familiarize themselves with which candidates support Ed Day prior to going to the polls as there will be up to eight candidates on many ballots.
Legislator Sparaco has a Facebook page in which he periodically discusses his concern about what is revealed about him in the press and the social media. The Editors of Rockland Voice have the regrettable privilege of reading numerous Facebook pages on a daily basis including Legislator Sparaco’s official Facebook page which happens to be closed to all but his Facebook ‘Friends’.
In a recent Facebook conversation Sparaco made mention of several articles which appeared in Rockland Voice. The first on election petitions filed by Sparaco and the second on the alleged misuse of Independence Party funds. In a conversation with the self-styled ‘Chairman’ of the “legal-racket” Independence Party, John Perrotta, and with Sparaco’s candidate to represent the Republican Party in Clarkstown Election District #51, Bruno McKee, Sparaco complained that what was being reported about him was lies. The “lies” about which he complains are allegations of forgery and fraud in election petitions and misappropriation of Independence Party funds that were presented to the local District Attorney by senior elected officials in the Rockland County Republican Party.
Here are some excerpts from the legislator’s Facebook page in August 2014. (The text has not been corrected for spelling or grammatical issues and the blogger being referenced by McKee is Michael Hull, the author of this and other articles on Rockland Voice).

Legislator Frank Sparaco: How many times do I have to prove that this blogger is a liar.

John Perrotta III: (Sparaco’s childhood friend who ‘Chairman’ of the “legal-racket Independence Party) I’m not surprised… I guess according to “BLOG Law” your not allowed to do that though lol ……. Im sure blog law entitles crusty creepy old men to live in their mother’s attic rent free though right??? ….. oh the political arena has changed We now have Political players, Bosses and Bloggers (aka sideliners who were never picked to play) lol

Legislator Frank Sparaco: This blogger just makes up things as he goes along with no regard for facts or truth. I’m currently engaged in a lawsuit against him. And he had 10 to 15 followers with 2 or 3 fake fb pages that help spread his lies. I feel bad for these poor confused souls. They remind of Jim jones followers that just blindly followed their god.
(The reference to fake Facebook pages is quite interesting given several fake websites were indeed constructed and have been traced to a certain individual. The matter has been referred for criminal investigation. What is surprising is Legislator Sparaco’s apparent knowledge of the existence and the number of these fake websites about which we shall inquire later.)

Legislator Frank Sparaco: Almost all of these bloggers and their families are in primary elections. We will have a clear decision very shortly.

Bruno McKee is a Sparaco-backed candidate in District #51.
Voters in Clarkstown can be grateful for two things: 1) That people will have “an opportunity to have their voices heard” on Tuesday, September 9th and 2) That County Legislator Sparaco has not agreed that a candidate he is supporting for election in Clarkstown District #51 can ‘hit’ a “crusty creepy old man“ (according to the Chairman of the Independence Party ) who looks like an “asshole” (according to Candidate McKee) given that the “old man“, who reminds Sparaco of a “god” called Jim Jones, is himself a candidate committee man in Clarkstown District #11 supported by County Executive Day. Recently Legislator Sparaco was removed from his position as Deputy Minority Leader of the Legislature for among other things referring to County Executive Day as “his highness” who is also a “god right now“.
Sparaco’s cousins, Keith and Michael Kuropatski, shown here in a publicly available picture posted on Facebook, registered to vote in Clarkstown giving Sparaco’s home address as their residence based on renting a bedroom, not in Sparaco’s attic like the “crusty, creepy old man”, but in his basement for $100 monthly while also maintaining a residence in Yonkers. Keith Kuropatski is a Sparaco-backed candidate in Election District #21. Both Kuropatskis carried Republican Party petititons for Sparaco-backed candidates.
Many of you recently received mailers from the Reda/Sparaco group saying “Wake Up! Emergency Republican Message”. The flyer claims that we who support County Executive Day are “liberal Democrats“. The arrows pointing to the circles to be filled in are the names of the Sparaco-supported candidates. If you take this card with you to the polls as suggested then you can easily find the candidates supported by Day. They are the other candidates on the ballot that you are not invited to vote for.
While all principled Republicans believe that liberal Democrats are honorable, principled people with whom we disagree, many of them joined with us to elect County Executive Day last November. But what did Legislator Sparaco do? There is incontrovertible evidence that Legislator Sparaco, mentored by Vinnie Reda, collected absentee ballots for David Fried in an attempt to assist him in defeating his Republican colleague, Ed Day. Further, prior to that Sparaco actively supported and urged other Republicans to work for Democrat Ilan Schoenberger to help him win the Democratic Primary against David Fried so that they could save Richard Brega’s $80 million bus contract with the County.
You do not have to take that statement as fiction made up by either liberal Democrats or moderate Republicans since the legislator was damned by his own words recorded surreptitiously while he was trying to trap his political friends into making statements with which he could destroy them.
It is now up to you, the Republican voters in Clarkstown, to bring this outlandish, self-centered behavior to an end! Here are step-by-step instructions how to find the candidates in your district who support County Executive Ed Day and who are committed to helping Day implement his program.
1) Find the Election District in which you reside by entering your name in the Board of Elections search box
You will find your Election District on the third line of the box “Related Jurisdictions” and you will also find the address of your polling place on this page.
2) With the number for your election district go to the link below and scroll down to the list of candidates approved by County Executive Day in your district.
3) Write down the names for your district that Ed Day endorses and take them with you to your polling place.
There may be up to eight (8) names on your ballot. If the list of candidates that is shown for your district shows only one or two names DO NOT vote for additional people as you will be supporting Sparaco candidates by that action.
Vote ONLY for the names recommended on the official Ed Day website and NONE OTHER.
This is the most important Republican Party primary EVER to have been held in Rockland County. It is now up to you!
