Chairman Vincent D. Reda to Step Aside After
Twenty-Two Years as Rockland County GOP Chairman

Rockland County GOP (RC GOP) Chairman Vincent D. Reda announced today that he will be stepping aside and not seeking re-election after twenty-two years in that important leadership post.

“I believe it is the appropriate time for me to retire my gavel, and I will not be seeking re-election as Chairman at our county convention later this month. During the past twenty-two years I have had the pleasure of leading the RC GOP, rebuilding the party, and along the way electing a large number of Republicans to office. However, with last year’s successful election of Ed Day as County Executive, I believe the party is in good shape, and it is clear to me that it is time for new leadership.”

Chairman Reda continued, “I look forward, along with the County Executive, in supporting Lawrence Garvey as my successor for Rockland County GOP Chairman later this month. Lawrence will be joined by Robert Zeiss and Michael Lawler as Vice Chairs and I am extremely confident that they will take the party to new heights. I ask all committee people to join me in supporting the new leadership team and I look forward to assisting in any way that I can during the transition and in the future to continue the winning tradition of the RC GOP.”

Rockland County Executive Ed Day offered the following, “I want to personally thank Vinnie Reda for his efforts in leadership and his many years of service to the GOP. Twenty two years of service is not insignificant and there were many successes achieved while he was at the helm. I look forward to working with Lawrence Garvey, somebody that I am well acquainted with, along with the new team selected by the committee. I join Vinnie in asking all RC GOP Committee members to support the new and exceptional leadership team at the upcoming county convention later this month.”
