Just when things in the Middle-East could not get any worse for the Obama Administration’s floundering foreign policy; the U.S. State Department was stunned to learn that suddenly Bahrain has ordered a top US diplomat visiting the island to leave the country after he met leaders of the main Shia opposition party.
The Bahrain government said; ” that the US assistant secretary for human rights, Tom Malinowski, was “unwelcome” and he should end his official three-day visit to Bahrain “due to his interference in its internal affairs”.
President Obama had no immediate response. State Department spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, responded saying; ” the Bahrain government was “well aware that US government officials routinely meet all officially recognized political societies.”
However, in the wake of the recent clash between Shia and Sunni on the Island Emirate, that was suppressed by the injection of Saudi troops, and the rise of ISIS gains in Iraq and Syria; this expulsion of a top U.S. diplomat grades poorly the Administrations timing. Meeting with this political opposition behind the backs of the Bahraini Government netted a stinging diplomatic rebuke saying; “get out of my country.”
